Molten glass moves through four rooms before it leaves the studio — gather, blow, anneal, cold work. Here's how a lump of sand becomes a vessel.

The first gather — molten glass on the end of a blowpipe, straight from the furnace.

Air through the pipe inflates the gather into a bubble, then into a vessel.

Slow cooling from 900°F to room temperature, so the glass doesn't crack.

Grinding, polishing, and etching once it's cool — the final, patient pass.
